This tire design offers great dry performance, wet performance; tread water quality handling, off-road capability and dirt, mud, sand, rock or gravel ranked well.

The AT3 Tire has four key design features, Whisper Groups technology: the whisper groove provides a sound barrier that reduces road noise. Stone ejector ledges: ledges easily eject stones and gravel, protecting the tire from stones.

First of all, you may notice in this model that the 275/55r20 Ford Falken Wildpeak A/T3 have this sort of angled side biter that looks somewhat like a saw blade. It’s sort of directional how it’s angled up, but you do have that a little bit of extra traction there with those side biters.

They do have those cooling fins along this inner bead of the tire there, which always makes people kind of question why are they there? If you are running low air pressure, for example, then Falken put these on there to help dissipate the heat, but you don’t see that on any other tire out there.

The other thing is that those shoulder blocks are designed a little bit different. They still have the larger shoulder blocks on the outer edge of the tire and then the scattered or staggered inner tread blocks along the center of the tire to help cut down on that road noise.

The Klever R/T is the ideal option for 4×4 owners on the road, in the snow, or in any off-road scenario thanks to its aggressive styling, improved tread design, and superb all-weather compound. It also features our triple threat 3-ply sidewall for exceptional durability.

The Kenda Klever R/T is equipped for off-road driving and has winter stud pins. While the construction offers long lasting wear with appropriate ride and noise on the road, strong upper sidewall tread blocks help with generally challenging mud, sand, and gravel situations.

– The best level of impact and puncture protection is provided by 3 complete polyester carcass plies.
– Aggressive sidewall tread gives you traction while also preventing cuts, tears, and abrasions.
– A sturdy bead protector protects the rim and bead area from contact with trail objects.
– Blocks in the core of the tread that lock together for powerful off-road and snow performance.

– Big groove volumes to improve grip in muck, damp conditions, and against hydroplaning.

If you are ready to tires on your light truck, but you aren’t the avid off-roader and you use your truck for daily driving and hitting lighter trails, the Nitto Terra Grappler will be a great choice to look at.

This features an asymmetrical all terrain tread that looks good with moderately aggressive pattern and performs great on the trail. The Terra Grappler G2 is said one of the quieter all-terrains, it’ll provide a comfortable daily ride. This tire is available in 29 to a 35 inch diameter, for 17, 18, 20 and 22 wheels, so make sure you get the right one for your setup.

Nitto made the Terra Grappler G2 with the intention of being a true all-terrain tire for flexible performance off-road and on-road. This is not the most aggressive all terrain tire, but it’s still a very meaty tread, and it’s definitely a step up from the other option.

The G2 will be able to perform very well on the street and on the trail in rain and snow all year round, and it can tackle looser terrain, like gravel or sand.

The G2 features full-depth sipes and reinforced coupling joints to help the tread wear evenly for a longer lifespan. To further help the tread life, unlike a mud terrain, the lugs on the G2 will be closer together. This will not allow the tread to self-clean in soft or muddier ground, but this will make the tire quiet and comfortable while you’re daily driving it on the road, giving it great road manners.

The shoulder, or the outside edge of the tire, has staggered lugs for loose terrain, and it really gives a better bite road off-road. On the surface of the tire, there are deep sipes and laterals vois in the outer blocks, which will channel water away and prevent any hydroplaning, making the G2 perfect for rain and snow.

The coupling blocks will promote traction and handling in dry climates, as well as promote an even wear for a long lifespan, which you definitely want in a tire.

Hankook’s On-/Off-Road All-Terrain tire, the Dynapro AT2 (RF11), is designed for drivers of pickup trucks, Jeeps, work vans, and full-size SUVs who want a satisfactory balance of all-around performance.

The Hankook Dynapro AT2 combines off-road competence, dry and wet grip, and the assured light snow traction that comes from being recognized with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) insignia. It is made to be durable and versatile in a variety of surface situations.

The 275/55r20 Ford Hankook Dynapro AT2’s tread composition was especially designed to increase fuel efficiency and offer cut- and chip-resistance on uneven surfaces. For increased ride comfort and dry handling, rigid tie bars in the shoulders aid in stabilizing the tread blocks, and the stepped block edges lessen airborne noise generated by the symmetric tread pattern.

The tread compound’s high-dispersible silica improves traction in slick conditions, and the open shoulders and wide grooves aid in removing water from the contact patch to prevent hydroplaning. The independent tread blocks include additional biting edges for grip off-road and in snow, and the multi-directional grooves and sipes are structured to find traction in any direction.

When used off-road, a tough, three-ply casing helps prevent punctures and damage. In order to distribute pressure more evenly and extend tread life, the wide footprint was computer modeled. Two nylon cap plies are added to two high-strength steel belts to increase their durability and high-speed capabilities.

This allows the tire to maintain exceptional traction throughout each revolution while also reducing the risk of premature tread loss.

The tread pattern is linked together by tie bars in between the tread blocks for added stability and even longer predicted endurance. Interspersed throughout are zig zag sipes that provide additional biting edges for optimum handling in all weather.
