Top #1 All Terrain: Michelin LTX A/T2 – 265/70r18
The 265/70R18 Michelin LTX A/T 2 tires use a unique rubber formula that resists chipping and tearing and lasts up to 35% longer on gravel than competitors. Michelin’s MaxTouch design, which uses a computer-optimized contact patch, enables for higher traction and more consistent wear.
To provide a more comfortable ride, Michelin Comfort Control technology absorbs road noise and vibrations. With high-strength steel belts and a thick nylon carcass to resist warping and punctures, the tire is built to last. Deep circumferential grooves keep water out, and broad and thick lugs with lots of void provide grip in deep mud and slippery gravel.
The LTX A/T2 is a nearly all-season tire that perfectly blends jobsite functionality and road competence into one comfortable package.
Top #2 All Terrain: Falken Wildpeak A/T3W – 265/70r18
First of all, you may notice in this model that the 265/70R18 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W have this sort of angled side biter that looks somewhat like a saw blade. It’s sort of directional how it’s angled up, but you do have that a little bit of extra traction there with those side biters.
They do have those cooling fins along this inner bead of the tire there, which always makes people kind of question why are they there? If you are running low air pressure, for example, then Falken put these on there to help dissipate the heat, but you don’t see that on any other tire out there.
The other thing is that those shoulder blocks are designed a little bit different. They still have the larger shoulder blocks on the outer edge of the tire and then the scattered or staggered inner tread blocks along the center of the tire to help cut down on that road noise.
Top #3 All Terrain: General Grabber A/TX – 265/70r18
The ATX, which the X, means that it’s designated from General Tire as a hybrid or crossover tire and was designed to be a blend of General X three mud terrain with a more robust sidewall and aggressive shoulder lugs and General previous AT2 all-terrain to give it a respectable on road handling and a quiet ride, plus lots of great traction characteristics without sacrificing Off-Road performance.
The tread voids and tread depth will do a great job at evaluating mud as long as you have them spinning at a faster rate of speed. Same with the snow, especially the wet, heavy stuff.
Not surprisingly, the 265/70R18 General Grabber A/TX is ample space between the lugs, as these are rated as a three peak mountain snowflake rated tire, which means they have passed a set standard as being a high performing tire in severe winter weather driving conditions.
Top #4 All Terrain: Nitto Terra Grappler G2 – 265/70r18
Staggered lugs on shoulders provide additional bite edges in off-road conditions. The previously computer-analyzed tread block arrangement reduces tire noise normally heard at highway driving speeds.
Nitto also decided to reinforce the coupling joints on the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 that connect the outermost blocks of the tread to the center blocks, thereby increasing the stiffness of the edge of the block. It delivers all the virtues of a true off-roader and a medium-looking package, and these tires are smooth and quiet on the road.
In the end, the 265/70R18 Nitto Terra Grappler G2 serves its purpose as a pure all-rounder with extremely low noise levels, even in larger options and excellent rare features. Anyone whose truck is primarily a road vehicle will fall in love with the performance and durability of these tires.
Top #5 All Terrain: Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S – 265/70r18
The 265/70R18 Cooper Tires Discoverer AT3 offers durable tread technology. The tires design is intended for hauling heavy loads with less where these tires are built to withstand ongoing assaults from dirt and gravel and are available in larger sizes.
The unique tire tread offers a rugged, biting edge on the shoulder of the tire. Cooper Tires also emphasizes 10 feet shorter stopping distances on wet roads. This tire design offers great dry performance, wet performance; tread water quality handling, off-road capability and dirt, mud, sand, rock or gravel ranked well.
The AT3 Tire has four key design features, Whisper Groups technology: the whisper groove provides a sound barrier that reduces road noise. Stone ejector ledges: ledges easily eject stones and gravel, protecting the tire from stones. Drilling into carcass and maintaining a clean tread for enhanced road traction.
Rugged traction shoulders: the rugged traction shoulders provide increased off-road traction for bolder crawling and mud handling, as well as additional resistance to abrasions and punctures.

We also note that the Kumho is one among the softest driving tires. Converting a singular hit into a protracted event steering response from the Crugen HT51 could be a unique experience, with an initially stiff response it’ll never seem to extend or decrease with steering effort.
In wet tests, the upper hitting performance was shown to be adequate for many tasks. This trend continued with objective tests that yielded competitive braking results.
The Crugen HT51 achieved competitive side-pull scores, together with stopping distances. The Kumho Crugen HT51 proved to be fully capable of emergency or avoidance braking maneuvers on the road.
Top #2 Highway: Firestone Destination LE3 – 265/70r18
The 265/70R18 Firestone Destination LE 3 is a significant increase over the original LE, with noticeable improvements in handling and road noise. On dry, wet, or snow-covered roads, the symmetric tread pattern and silica-enhanced all-season tread compound provide excellent traction. Increased handling and cornering ability, as well as a better steering response, are provided by the reinforced center rib and notched shoulder blocks.
Water is expelled from the tire tread by the sweeping lateral and circumferential grooves, which reduces the possibility of hydroplaning. As a result, wet road traction is improved, giving you more confidence when driving in bad weather.
To improve snow performance, Firestone has incorporated unique cross grooves and zigzag sipes all around the tire. Drivers will notice two steel belts on the inner of the tire that are strengthened with nylon for improved durability and strength over the speed range. A polyester cord body adds to the ride comfort by giving drivers a fantastic feeling on the road.
The Destination LE3 is a great choice for budget-conscious customers looking for improved performance and a comfortable ride
Top #3 Highway: Michelin Agilis CrossClimate – 265/70r18
These tires were made to handle a wide range of terrains. They’ve even been certified for usage on icy roads and in frigid environments. The Commercial 265/70R18 Michelin Agilis Crossclimate wheels are a commercial counterpart of the Crossclimate for passenger cars.
Tires that can adapt to a range of surfaces are required for light cars. You never know when a wet road, an unexpected ice cap, or snow would arise when planning a trip. Furthermore, with cars that travel a huge number of kilometers each year, a powerful and durable tire is clearly essential.
Michelin Agilis Crossclimate wheels are stamped 3PMSF despite being a summer tire (also known as an all-season tire). They’ve been thoroughly tested and approved for use in the cold. In these conditions, snowy, damp, and icy roadways are typical. Michelin conducted numerous compound and design tests to achieve this level of quality and strength. As a result, the tire is capable of providing total grip as well as exceptional durability.
Top #4 Highway: General Grabber HTS60 – 265/70r18
The 265/70r18 General Grabber HTS is a high-performance, long-lasting, and comfortable all-season tire built specifically for drovers. These two promote fuel efficiency and steadiness, giving drivers the assurance, they need to go on the road. Braking, turning, and acceleration are all improved by the Stabilink system of connecting bars.
The response grooves, which provide directional assistance during steering and water evacuation, improve wet weather traction and hydroplaning resistance.
Features & Benefits:
– Three types of sipes provide traction in all weather conditions, including dry, wet, and icy.
– The internal structure is made up of two ultra-high tensile steel belts that provide maximum durability.
– Internal cushioning technology isolates road vibrations for a smoother ride.
Top #5 Highway: Michelin Defender LTX M/S – 265/70r18
The 265/70R18 Michelin Defender LTX M/S has a symmetrical tread pattern with an updated compound, it has plenty of tread stripes and a zigzag pattern, giving it excellent wet and snow traction. The sidewall always remains black like most Michelin ones due to the special compound that comes out during the warm-up and cool-down cycle.
You will always have the same traction in wet and snowy weather now, every block in an LTX, every block has zigzag grooves, and so do these zigzag grooves. That’s what helps you on light snow, especially hard, compact light snow. So even though this is a road tread tire, even if it’s on a light trail it really does a good job. However, if you want to drive through more difficult terrain, you can use them without any problem. It doesn’t look very aggressive, but it’s not meant to do that.
