Top #2 All Terrain Tires: Toyo Open Country R/T – 37×13.50r20
Toyo Tires’ Open Country Rugged Terrain (Open Country R/T) 4×4 tire is a next-generation 4WD tire that combines an M/exceptional T’s puncture resistance and strength with an A/long-wearing T’s compound and sealed road performance to fill the new ‘hybrid’ tire category.
The 37×13.50r20 Open Country R/T combines the best features of the Open Country A/T II and the Open Country M/T to provide rugged tourers the all-around performance they need to reach the most isolated destinations with confidence. – Next-Generation Hybrid Tread Pattern – For traction on any terrain, tight A/T-inspired center blocks combine with self-cleaning M/T-style shoulders.

Top #3 All Terrain Tires: General Grabber A/TX – 37×13.50r20
The ATX, which the X, means that it’s designated from General Tire as a hybrid or crossover tire and was designed to be a blend of General X three mud terrain with a more robust sidewall and aggressive shoulder lugs and General previous AT2 all-terrain to give it a respectable on road handling and a quiet ride, plus lots of great traction characteristics without sacrificing Off-Road performance.
The tread voids and tread depth will do a great job at evaluating mud as long as you have them spinning at a faster rate of speed. Same with the snow, especially the wet, heavy stuff.
Not surprisingly, the 37×13.50r20 General Grabber A/TX is ample space between the lugs, as these are rated as a three peak mountain snowflake rated tire, which means they have passed a set standard as being a high performing tire in severe winter weather driving conditions.
Top #4 All Terrain Tires: Yokohama Geolandar X-AT – 37×13.50r20
This tire is intended to bridge the gap between the mud terrain industry and the all-terrain, go-anywhere, do-anything market. In essence, it selects up the best features from both types of tires and blends them. Instead of the typical two ply sidewalls found on all-terrain tires, this one has three. The air within and the air outside are separated by three layers of material, which should make the tire stronger and more puncture-resistant but will also lessen comfort to some extent because it reduces sidewall flex. With blocks that are positioned more closely in the centre and more widely apart on the shoulders, the tread pattern draws inspiration from both the AT and MT aspects of its personality. The lack of somewhat wider shoulder spacing actually shocked me because it would have given the tires a more aggressive tread pattern and improved off-road performance, akin to certain other cross-over tyres on the market. The center blocks have a combination layout that enables them to simultaneously offer a lot of tread on the road and a lot of angles while you’re on the ground to help you dig in.

Top #1 Mud Terrain Tires: Kumho Road Venture MT71 – 37×13.50r20
It has always been challenging for tire manufacturers to combine good off-road and snow performance with reasonable road comfort. The answers were always half-baked: either the tires performed admirably off-road but were extremely loud and uncomfortable on it, or they were quite quiet but underperformed in practically all slick conditions.
The 37×13.50r20 Kumho Road Venture MT tire, according to Kumho, is not only fantastic for off-road use, but also for snowy situations in the winter, as well as being extremely quiet on the road. To some, this may appear to be a fairy tale, and we have all heard it before. While no tire is flawless, the Road Venture MT is among the best in its class, delivering on most of Kumho’s promises.
The Kumho Road Venture Mt is an all-terrain tire that may be used throughout the year. Large vehicles and SUVs, especially those with great off-road capability, are most suited for it.

Your experience with these tires will be great as they perform amazingly both off road and on. And let’s face it, trucks or SUVs are not the quietest vehicles on the road, but these tires don’t make it worse, they help almost noiselessly while speeding.
Top #4 Mud Terrain Tires: BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 – 37×13.50r20
The 37×13.50r20 BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM3 is the fourth generation All-Terrain T/A KO2. BFGoodrich will talk about the three T’s with this tire for toughness, tread, wear and traction. They spent a lot of time and a lot of science analyzing exactly how to make their tires last longer and why they fail.
Some of the big changes they made besides the styling, there is a little difference in the tread where it no longer has the vertical lines.
There’s a bit more camber, leading to better sidewall protection was part of what they did to the tread, where they actually molded it, so they claim 20 percent stronger on the sidewall. But really, in addition to giving it more traction, there is some really added thickness and it will also give you better grip when you get into sandy and muddy conditions.
The angled grooves will also help push mud out for better traction there. In fact, it will help break the seal a bit so you don’t get stuck in the mud when you get there.
The other major changes, now there are quite a few snipers. They actually have zigzags on the sniping so when the tire actually goes over dirt and terrain you’d think that might disarm it further. But since it’s angled, it actually makes a better lockdown and actually provides even better traction.
Top #5 Mud Terrain Tires: Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 – 37×13.50r20
The 37×13.50r20 Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 provides durable protection from damage elements. The tire is protected against punctures, cuts, and side impacts thanks to Geo-Shield Technology and various sidewall plies. The Geo-Shield Construction’s capacity to execute damage-free is ensured by this combination.
The off-road, mud terrain traction is improved by using a unique tread pattern with staggered tread blocks and an adjusted block to void ratio. These tread components, together with the increased tread depth, provide improved mud, sand, and dirt terrain performance. This tread shape also prevents stone drilling and keeps the footprint clean. Mud and stone ejectors boost traction and damage resistance even further.
The Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 also manages to keep things quiet. The tread area has a sophisticated variable pitch tread design that reduces road noise when driving. This pattern cancels out the sound waves, ensuring that the passengers’ driving experience is not ruined. As a result, the performance of this mud tire is remarkably quiet.
